Schultz & Larsen | Legacy
The latest rifle to the Schultz & Larsen family. The Legacy is a beautiful baby, slim, light and deadly accurate. This is the perfect frame for the popular .222 Rem and .223 Rem calibres, plus the very interesting .300 Blackout*.
Originally developed for use in the M4 Carbine and approved by SAAMI in January 2011, the .300 AAC* Blackout is based on the .223 case and is capable of throwing a 110 grain bullet at 2,400 ft./sec or a 245 grain bullet at 950 ft./sec. That last is a subsonic load and a bit like throwing a brick, with a similar trajectory. Subsonic loads for the .300 AAC Blackout usually use a bullet weight between 180 and 220 grains. An interesting round, especially now factory loads and brass are available from a number of manufacturers. Customers may want to check on local availability of ammo. Brass is available for those who home load.

Weighing in at just 2.8 kg with a barrel length of 53.5cm and a magazine capacity of 3 + 1, the Legacy will be the favoured choice for an evening walk round.
Barrels are screw cut for a sound moderator with a 1/2x20 UNF or M14x1 thread. The top of the action accepts the strong and lightweight Schultz & Larsen all steel scope mounts, available in a range of diameters and heights. The action is drilled and tapped for those who wish to use an alternative mount (hole spacing is 22mm and action radius 15mm).
Just like other rifles in the Schultz & Larsen family, the Legacy has a switch barrel system allowing the barrel to be changed for any other in its calibre group with just a simple wrench. The same bolt is used with all Legacy calibres. The surprisingly low cost of a barrel makes it viable to own a Legacy in all three calibres.
Due to the smaller diameter action, Classic and Victory barrels do not interchange and only barrels designed specifically for the Legacy can be used.
The Legacy is available in right hand only.
Scope Mounting
The top of the Legacy action is milled to accept the Schultz & Larsen ‘Slide & Lock” scope mounts, incorporating only one scope position as opposed to the two positions on the Victory and Classic models. For those who prefer a different mount, the action is drilled and tapped to accept a Picatinny Rail. The radius of the action is 15mm and the hole spacing 22mm
Sling Swivels
There are two sling swivel studs pre-fitted to the Legacy. One is at the rear, on the bottom of the stock in front of the recoil pad, and one on the forearm. The swivel studs accept sling swivels of 8mm wide, with 3.5mm pin diamter. See our available options in the Accessories Section.
Safe Construction
Safety has top priority with all locking parts designed and tested to withstand at least three times normal load. In the case of an overload resulting in a primer blow-out or case rupture, the high pressure gas can escape through holes in the front of the action and on the side of the bolt. This, coupled with the extremely tight fit of the bolt and action, ensures that the shooter is not injured.
The safety catch is three position and locks the bolt and blocks the firing pin. The centre position allows unloading of the rifle whilst the safety is engaged.

The .300 Blackout Set Up
A very impressive set up of the Legacy in .300 Blackout. Mounted Zeiss Diavari 2.5-10x42 using Schultz & Larsen Slide & Lock Scope Mounts less than 2mm relief from the barrel. A Schultz & Larsen Superdome Muzzle Mounted Moderator. Total Weight is 3.6 kg and length of 104 cm.
Sound Moderators
Schultz & Larsen manufacture their own range of sound moderators designed to complement their rifles. The range includes strong and lightweight muzzle mounted and over barrel versions.
